Thank a Vet social campaign

The History Channel is implementing the Thank a Vet social campaign through videos and Twitter. Another way the military and families are using social media.

  1. What touching tributes! And interesting to say the least.

It seems hilarious to thank my grandfather for his years of service on a platform like Twitter. Even if he were here today - I don't think I could ever really explain Twitter in a way he could understand it.

It's a very cool idea, though. Thanks for sharing it.

  2. Caitlin,

I think this campaign is AWESOME!!!!! It’s a perfect example of the benefit of New Media and how it can be implemented in a positive way. The ability to express appreciation and thanks to our veterans is extremely significant and I’m proud to see that New Media has provided a platform/stage to honor those that have unselfishly protected us.

  3. Caitlin this is great and I'm so happy you shared it! This just shows how involved our society has become with social media that we are also using as a tool for the purpose of thanking our veterans. Although to me it seems a little humorous to use this method to reach older veterans who may not utilize Twitter, or know what it is for that matter. But either way, it is a positive, creative way to express our appreciation.
